What Do You See?

This beautiful mineral specimen has earned the nickname "The Sword in the Stone."

It's easy to see why.

A vivid green Elbaite Tourmaline appears to pierce a crystal of Quartz, while delicate lilac Lepidolite completes the scene.

When @naturalcreationsllc shared this remarkable specimen, he explained that it reminded him of Disney's The Sword in the Stone, a childhood memory that helped shape his lifelong passion for collecting minerals. He hoped it might inspire others to see something they hadn't noticed before.

It certainly did.

The first thing I saw was something completely different.

A beautifully crafted cocktail served at one of those unforgettable Ice Bars.

A vibrant green straw.

Tiny pink flowers suspended in shimmering ice.

Neither of us is right.

Neither of us is wrong.

That's what I love most about minerals.

Sometimes we're not just looking at nature.

We're looking at ourselves.

The stories we've collected.

The memories we carry.

The things that make us stop and look a little longer.

I also find it quietly extraordinary that the same planet we walk across every day can spend millions of years creating something this beautiful.

It reminds me that wonder is often already here.

Sometimes we simply need to notice it.

What do you see?
